Best Places To Go Hiking Around Lexington

Here are some of our favorite and best known places to go hiking. You will definitely want to do your own research to see the condition of the trails, check the weather, how long the hike is and the experience level. RRG is probably the best and most known place for hiking around Lexington, there are hundreds of trails. Depending on what area and trail you choose, the drive is about an hour and half. You can hike, bike, go cliff jumping, chase waterfalls, rent a cabin, go camping, kayak and so much more, but you have to go to Miguel’s Pizza before you head home.

 
 

The Pinnacles in Berea

Hiking the Pinnacles you will find miles of unhindered views in every direction, with multiple spots like the East Pinnacle, West Pinnacle, Buzzards Roost and Eagles Nest which all offer different and beautiful views of Kentucky. There are several different trails varying in length and skill level. It is about a 45 minute drive from Lexington, dogs are allowed, but camping is not.

 

Ravens Run

Ravens Run has several different trails that will take you to waterfalls, the KY river, or just some beautiful views. There is 7 different experience levels ranging from a paved route to you want to know what you’re doing. It is only open during the day and does not allow pets. It was about a 30 minute drive from Lexington and definitely worth a trip.

 
 

McConnell Springs Park in lexington

 
 
 

Located in Lexington, you will find some beautiful trails that lead you to natural springs, a lake and amazing scenery. This short trail is for the whole family and does not allow pets. This is the perfect spot for those days you want to get out and go hiking, but need to stay closer to town!
